The J4 companies are grouped three ways on this page. Land and Property covers everything to do with owning ground or a place to put your things. Build and Equip covers the crews who put something on that ground or make it run. Community covers the tournament the family puts on every year.

Each company holds its own license where a license applies, keeps its own crew, and answers its own phone. What they share is an owner and a standard, which matters most on the jobs that cross more than one of them.

Buying ground, renting a place, or needing somewhere to put what will not fit in the barn. J4 Legacy Properties handles rural land and ranch brokerage across the Gulf Coast counties. J4 Real Estate holds the single family rental side. White Wing Estates has home sites, and White Wing Storage has units from 10x5 up to 10x20.

Real estate brokerage, rural Texas land sales

The brokerage, licensed with the Texas Real Estate Commission and led by Cuatro Strack as broker of record. It works rural land, ranches, farms, hunting ground, and homestead acreage across Wharton, Matagorda, Austin, Colorado, Lavaca, Jackson, and Fayette counties, and it will travel for the right tract anywhere in Texas. Listings run on MLS through HAR and on the Land.com network as well as the brokerage's own site, because land buyers do not shop where house buyers shop.

Investments & Rentals

Single family investments and rentals

The rental and single family investment side, and the oldest real estate entity in the group at 2016. It holds and manages rental property rather than brokering sales, which is a different business from J4 Legacy Properties even though the two get confused constantly. Rent, applications, and maintenance requests run through a tenant portal.

A manufactured home community with sites where the utilities are already in the ground. It is the alternative to the whole land-to-home sequence for somebody who wants the destination without the project, and it opened in 2023.

Storage units from 10x5 up to 10x20, opened alongside the community in 2023. Rentals and payments run on the storage facility's own platform.

Build & Equip

The crews. J4 Fencing has been building fence since 1994 and now runs high security and coastal work alongside ranch perimeter. J4 Water Works drills the well, sets the septic, and treats what comes out of the ground. J4 Prefab Homes sells the manufactured home. High Standards Power Solutions installs the generator that keeps it all running when the grid quits.

High security fencing, coastal construction, government contracts

The oldest work in the family and the reason the rest of it exists. The fence side started in 1994 and became J4 Fencing and Services in 2004. It runs three kinds of work now: ranch and agricultural fence across the Gulf Coast counties, coastal construction built for salt air and wind load, and high security fence on government and commercial contracts where the tolerance is a great deal tighter than a pasture line. Steel is the default rather than wood, because new-growth lumber does not hold up out here the way the old stuff did.

Water well drilling, septic systems, water treatment

Water wells, septic systems, and water treatment, opened in 2021. On rural ground you are your own water utility and your own sewer district, and the three pieces have to be planned against each other rather than discovered one at a time. Depth to good water varies inside a single county, a septic system has to be permitted and sized to the house it serves, and what comes out of the ground often needs treatment before anybody drinks it.

Manufactured home sales

Manufactured home sales, opened in 2022. It is the step most people picture when they picture living on their own land, and it is the last one that should happen: the pad, the water, and the septic all come first. Buying the home through the same family that prepared the site means the set date gets made against work that is actually finished.

Power

Residential and commercial turnkey generators

Standby generators for homes and businesses, installed turnkey. Founded by Harleigh Strack, which makes it the third generation of this family to show up in the list. Gulf Coast weather takes the power down and rural lines get restored after town lines do, and a well pump with no power is a house with no water. That is a different problem out here than it is in a subdivision.

The Cody Thompson Memorial is an annual golf tournament that raises scholarship money for kids with grit and excellence. It is not a business. It is the reason a good chunk of the family's calendar disappears every spring.

Why nine companies and not one.

Nine entities is more paperwork than anybody wants. The reason it is worth it is that a crew that only builds fence gets good at fence, and a crew that only drills gets good at drilling. Bundling all of it into one company with one crew doing a little of everything is how you end up mediocre at all of it.

So the companies stay separate, and what gets shared is the ownership, the standard, and the ability to pick up a phone. That is the whole design.
